Do not be deceived! Satan has distorted most popular End Time prophecy doctrines to deceive the church. He is preparing an ambush for the church and it is imperative that we know the truth. The Battle of Gog and Magog foretold in Ezekiel chapters 38-39 and Revelation 20 is near. Prophecy in Zachariah 14 shows that Jesus will return after this battle. This shows the Church will be on earth to witness this event. Please, don't take my words, or the words of any theologian for truth: study the word and you will know the truth that will set you free.
To assists those who take serious their learning and understanding of the word of God, the two columns below provide scriptural and historical evidence that shows prophetic events that have been fulfilled, those being fulfilled and those that are about to be fulfilled. The tab, False Popular Prophecy Doctrines explains how most popular end time teachings came to the Church and provides scriptures showing how they are false.
May the grace of Jesus through the Holy Spirit lead you in all understanding for the edification of the Church.
Daniel 2 - The Establishment of the Kingdom of Jesus (Yeshua)
Daniel 2:1-45 foretold the fall of the empires of Babylon, Med-Persia,Greece and Rome. It also predicted that during the time of the Roman Empire, the kingdom of Jesus would be the established on Earth.
King Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream an image of gold, silver, bronze, iron and clay and a "Rock" that through divine efforts struck the image on its feet destroying it so that no trace of the image would ever be found.
God provided Daniel the meaning of the dream, which represented the succession of four empires; Babylon (the head of Gold), Med Persia (chest and arms of silver), Greece (the belly and thighs of bronze) and Rome(the feet of clay and iron).
The rock striking the image on its feet represented the appearance of Jesus as the Messiah and the establishment of His Kingdom on earth during the time of fourth empire (the Roman Empire). Regarding this Jesus said " ...A certain nobleman (Jesus) went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return (Luke 19:12.)."
In the dream, the Rock became a great mountain that covered the entire earth. This meant that the kingdom of the Messiah would cover the entire Earth. The scriptures teach that Jesus ascended to heaven where He received authority in heaven, on earth and even under the earth (Hades/Sheol and the Lake of Fire). To be more precise, the Mountain or Kingdom of Jesus on earth are His followers who are also the Temple of God on Earth.
"Coming to Him (Jesus) as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:4-5)."
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (moved) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14).
The kingdom of Jesus, like a growing Mountain on Earth continues to grow through the spreading of the Gospel of the Kingdom.
“They shall not hurt nor destroy inall My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious (Isaiah 11:9-10).”
Contrary to the teachings of some who teach that the Roman Empire would rise again, Daniel 2 specifically said that the Roman Empire would never rise again:
“And whereas you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom (Rome) shall be divided… they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay (Daniel 2: 41-43).”
As one can clearly see, the above prophecy was fulfilled nearly 2000 years ago.
Daniel 7 - The Ascension of Jesus to His Throne in Heaven Where He Received an Everlasting Kingdom
In Daniel 7:2-27 like in Daniel 2, prophecy foretold that Jesus would appear during the time of the Roman Empire. It also foretold that Jesus would ascend to Heaven where He would receive an everlasting kingdom comprised of people from every nation, ethnic group and language.
In Daniel 7, the prophet saw in a vision the succession of the Empires (beasts) of Babylon, Med Persia, Greece and Rome. The Empire of Rome was portrayed as a terrible beast with 10 horns. During Jesus' ministry, the Roman Empire was comprised of 10 senatorial provinces. The 10 provinces were the 10 horns of the fourth beast (Rome).
In the vision, Daniel saw that from these 10 provinces came a little horn (a ruler) that spoke boastful things and removed 3 other horns (rulers) before him. Contrary to popular teachings that teach this refers to the Papacy. This passage referred to the civil war that took place in 69 AD after the death of Nero (the Year of the Four Emperors) in which 3 emperors (Galba, Otto and Vitellius) were removed opening the door for Vespasian (the Little Horn) to become the Roman Emperor. In 70 AD under direction of Vespasian, General Titus destroyed the City of Jerusalem and the Temple. Daniel 9:26 also referenced Titus who being the son of Emperor was the Prince who would destroy the City of Jerusalem. With the treasures of the Temple, Emperor Vespasian built the Coliseum and the Arch of Triumph honoring his son's victory over the Jewish rebels. As a boastful Little Horn, Vespasian's final words were “I think I am becoming a God.”
In Daniel 7, the prophet saw that the Roman Empire would fall and its dominion would be taken away. He saw that during the reign of the Roman Empire, Jesus would ascend to Heaven where God the Father (the Ancient of Days) would give Him the Kingdom, authority and dominion over all people on earth.
“I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming (ascending) with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days (God the Father), And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed (Daniel 7:13-14).
In 325 AD through the Conversion of Constantine the Great, Christianity became the official religion of the entire Roman Empire which opened the door for the spreading of the Gospel throughout the world. Soon after that the Roman Empire began to fall.
As one can clearly see the Kingdom of Jesus is already here, and we are His Kingdom. This is why the scriptures say that both John the Baptiser and Jesus begun their ministries saying the Kingdom of God is at hand. This is also the reason Jesus taught His disciples to pray " Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
When Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when would the Kingdom of God would come (that is when would the Kingdom of Israel would be restored) He said that that the kingdom of God would not come with observation (visible to the natural eyes), for the Kingdom of God was already within them.
"Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:20-21).”
Some not understanding the actual fulfillment of Bible Prophecy teach that the Kingdom of Jesus will be established on earth at a future time; nevertheless, the scriptures teach that His Kingdom is already here.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (moved) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14).
Those who serve God in Spirit and truth are the kingdom of God on earth today.
Daniel 8 - The 2300 Day Prophecy: the Ram, the Goat, the Four Horns and the King Who placed the Abomination of Desolation at the Temple
Daniel 8: 2-26 foretold how Alexander the Great (the Emperor of Greece) would defeat the Med-Persians, and how after his death his kingdom would be divided in four. Alexander died in 323 BC and his generals: Antigonus, Lysimachus, Seleucus and Ptolemy divided his kingdom into four kingdoms, these being Macedonia, Asia, Syria and Egypt. From the Seleucid kingdom which in Daniel 11 is called the Kingdom of the North came Antiochus Epiphanes who in 171 BC plundered Jerusalem, outlawed Temple and forced Jews to desolate the covenant by worshiping Greek gods (1 Maccabees 1:10-15). The 2 Books of Maccabees which were formerly part of the Bible Cannon provide the details of this event.
On December 167 BC, Antiochus plundered Jerusalem, stopped sanctuary service, and issue a death decree that all Jews were to sacrifice pigs to idols. He desecrated the Temple by slaughtering pigs in the Holiest of Holies and set up the abomination of desolation (and image of Baal Shamen, the Canaanite counterpart for the Greek god Zeus) inside the Temple, calling it temple of Zeus (1 Maccabees 1:20-64, 2 Maccabees 6:1, 2). In December 164 BC, the Temple was cleansed and rededicated to God (1 Mac4:42-58). This day became celebrated as Hanukkah (Celebration of the Lights) as the date when the Temple was cleansed. If we count back 2,300 days from then, we come to the year when Antiochus Epiphanes began persecuting Judah; thereby, fulfilling the 2300 day prophecy.
Daniel 9 - 490 Year Grace Period Given to Judah to Repent: The End of the Law, The Destruction of Jerusalem and The Appearance of Jesus Foretold
Daniel 9: 24-27 foretold that God would give the people of Jerusalem (Judah/the Southern Kingdom) a grace period of 490 years to repent of their sins. The Temple had been destroyed by the Babylonians and the prophecy foretold that a decree would be issued to rebuild the Temple and the City of Jerusalem. 483 years (69 x 7) from such decree, Jesus the Messiah would be anointed (baptized). It also foretold that 3 ½ years later (in middle of 7 years) Jesus would be killed and would end sacrifices and offerings for sins. The decree to rebuild the City and the Temple was given by King Artaxerxes around 457 AD (Ezra 7:11-26, 9:9). Around 26 or 27 BC, Jesus was anointed by the Sprit of God as He was baptized at the Jordan River (Matthew 26:28). From that time forward, He began His 3 ½ year ministry. He was then crucified putting and end to the Covenant of the Law of Moses; thereby, ending sacrifices and offerings for sins. The end of the 490 year prophecy came 3 1/2 years after the crucifixion (around 33 or 34 AD) near the death of Stephen, when the the Jewish leaders began to persecute the Israeli church. Daniel 9:26 foretold that a prince would destroy the City of Jerusalem. This prince was General Titus, the son of Emperor Vespasian who in 70 AD destroyed the the Temple and the City of Jerusalem.
This prophecy was well understood by the Church who knew the prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 were completely fulfilled. However, in the 1860s an English theologian named John Nelson Darby came to America and taught the verses of Daniel 9: 26-27 refer to a future time, stating that God will allow the people of Israel to bring back sacrifices and offerings for their sins and 3 1/2 years later the antichrist would put an end to them. He made the prophecy of the consecutive 490 year void and of no effect, by moving the later 3 1/2 year prophecy Daniel 9:26-27) to the future adding it to the 42 month (3/12) tribulation prophecy spoken in Revelation 11. This is where we get the infamous doctrine of the "Seven year Great Tribulation".
“So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months [3 ½ years] (Revelation 13:4-5).”
Notice above that the tribulation brought forth by the beasts only lasted 42 months (3 1/2 years) and not 7 years as it is commonly taught by those who follow Darby's teachings.
Darby's gap theory invalidates the word of God even though the scriptures clearly teach that at the cross Jesus put an end to sacrifices and offerings for sins, having become a curse for us. How can theologians continue to support Darby's teachings and in the same contradict the very word of God shown below:
Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He (Jesus) said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all (Hebrews 10:8-10)."
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14)."
Daniel 11 - The Succession of the Med Persian, Greek, Seleucid, Ptolemaic and Roman Kingdoms: the defamation of the Temple by Antiochus Epiphanes and his defeat by the Romans
History clearly shows that all of Daniel 11 has been fulfilled. Daniel 11:1-45 gave specific details describing the succession of the kingdoms of Med-Persia, Greece, the Ptolemaic Kingdom (the Kingdom of the South) and the Seleucid Kingdom (the Kingdom of the North). The later two came after the death of Alexander the Great (emperor of Greece), when his generals: Antigonus, Lysimachus, Seleucus and Ptolemy divided the Empire of Greece into four kingdoms (Macedonia, Asia, Syria and Egypt). Syria became the Kingdom of the North and Egypt the Kingdom of the South.
In Daniel 11:6, it was foretold how Ptolemy II Philadelphus who reigned in the Southern Kingdom would give his daughter Berenice in marriage to Antiochus II Theos of the Northern kingdom. Daniel 11:15-16 foretold how Antiochus the Great (King of the North) would defeat the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt (King of the South). Verse 17 foretold how Antiochus the Great would give Cleopatra in marriage for an alliance with Egypt. In verses 18-19 it was foretold that Antiochus the Great will war against the kingdom of the west but would be turned back by the rise of the Roman Empire. Verse 20 foretold that Seleucus IV Philopator (of the Northern Kingdom – the Seleucids) imposed a tax on Judah, but in a short time it was destroyed. Verses 21-35 foretold the appearance of Antiochus Epiphanes IV who made war against the Southern Kingdom (the Ptolemaic Kingdom) but was turned back during the rise of the Roman Empire.
Even though there is a preponderance of evidence that shows this chapter of Daniel if fulfilled in its entirety, there are some theologians who teach this refers to a future event.
Two key events in the timeline of Bible End Time prophecy are the binding of Satan and his release. Contrary to popular teachings, that teach these to event will happen after the return of Jesus and the gathering of the Church, the scriptures prove that the binding of Satan took place immediately after Jesus ascended to heaven, and his release would precede Jesus' return and the gathering of the Church.
Understanding this is critical, and placing these two events at a later time will be catastrophic for the Church. Since the Battle of Gog and Magog follows immediately after the release of Satan, this horrific battle will come upon the Nation of Israel and upon the Church by surprise.
Scriptural Evidence Showing That Satan Was Bound Already:
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit [Abyss], and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while (Revelation 20:1-3).
In the above scriptures John saw an angel of God taking a hold of Satan and casting him to the pit (Greek “abuso”) referring to the Abyss. The Abyss is another name for the word Khaos which refers to invisible and gloomy spiritual dimensions that surrounds the earth. Let's continue reading Revelation 20.
"And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6)."
Notice above that the souls of those who were beheaded went to be with the Lord. THE SCRIPTURES ARE CLEAR, these were not raptured, nor did they descend to earth to a so called millennial kingdom as some commonly teach. Instead these men and women died as martyrs and went to heaven to be with the Lord. Furthermore, the scriptures above say that these were part of the first resurrection which according to the scriptures below, took place immediately after the resurrection of Jesus.
Matthew 27: 50 -53 states that after Jesus resurrected, “…the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.”
2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 clearly show that Satan was restrained already:
“And now you know what is restraining, that he [Satan] may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one [Satan] will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.”
The fact that Satan was restrained did not mean he was completely rendered powerless; it simply means that he would not be able to exercise his power over those who belong to the Kingdom of Jesus.
Jesus said that Satan had to be bound first in order for the captives to be set free. Let’s look at the following passage which is often overlooked by some eschatologists:
But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man [Satan], fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger [Jesus] than he [Satan] comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils [people] (Luke 11:20-22).
Notice above that Satan had to be restrained (bound) in order for us to be set free. The scriptures below prove this happened already.
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (translated) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13)."
How Was Satan Bound?
Chapter 1 of the Book of Job tells us that even though Satan had already fallen, he was still able to present himself to God in heaven. He was lose on earth, capable of travelling to and fro, and as as the acuser of men he also presented himself to God in heaven.
"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it (Job 1:6-7)”
This changed after the crucifixion. Satan was cast out from his position of being ruler of this world and was restrained in the the Abyss, which refer to invisible and gloomy spiritual dimensions that surrounds us here on Earth.
Let's look at the scriptures that support this:
Prior to the crucifixion Jesus said: “Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself (John 12:31-32)."
Notice above that the Judgement of the world and of Satan who is the ruler of the world would happen immediately after the crucifixion. Jesus said that Satan would be cast down. This does not refer to the fall of Satan in the begining. The word cast down meant that he would be dethroned.
The following scripture tells the rest of the story.
“… And the dragon stood before the woman [Israel] who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She [Israel] bore a male Child [Jesus] who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child [Jesus] was caught up to God and His throne. Then the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness… And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon;… So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him (Revelation 12:4-9)."
Revelation 12:4-9 specifically shows that Jesus (the Son of the woman Israel) was caught up to His throne in heaven. Soon there after, Satan was defeated, and was cast down to the earth with all his demons.
Even though Satan was cast down, dethroned and retrained in a spiritual dimension here on Earth, and although we have been delivered from his power and transferred to the kingdom of Jesus, we are instructed to put on the whole armour of God since Satan and his demons are still around us.
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly (spiritual) places (Ephesians 6:12)."
One who has the Spirit of God can cleary see that Satan was cast down and bound already.
Revelation 20:1-6 do not refer to a future earthly Millennium nor to the rapture of the Chruch. These scriptures were fulfilled immediately after the resurrection of Jesus, when captivity (Satan and death) was set captive and Jesus gave us the gift of eternal life in heaven. That is why the rocks where rent at the time of the crucifixion and those in the grave who awaited to be delivered from death resurrected immediately after the ressurection of Jesus. Satan was bound to allow for the spreading of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus.
The Release of Satan and the Battle of Gog and Magog
The scriptures however say that in the later days Satan would be released to deceive the nations once again. This seems to indicate that he will make every attempt to prevent the gospel from reaching every nation. It is clearly evident that Satan would not be able to stop the spreading of the Gospel prompting him to gather the Army of Gog and Magog to attack the City of Jerusalem as well as Christians (Saints) abroad.
Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:7-10).
Ezekiel 38 give more clarity to this event saying that the Battle of Gog and Magog will take place soon after the people of Israel was gathered back to the Nation of Israel which had long been desolate. The return of the People of Israel began to be fulfilled in 1940s after World War II and Hitler's persecution against the Jewish people. In 1948 the United Nations created the Jewish State of Israel fulfilling Biblical the prophecy regarding the return the Jewish people back to their former land.
"After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you (Ezekiel 38:8-9)."
The events that have taken place since 1948 seem to show that Satan may have been released already, and he is now gathering the army of Gog and Magog to come against Israel and the Church.
Nevertheless, the scriptures teach that God will once again intercede for His people and fight against Satan and his army. Satan will then be cast into the Lake of Fire, where he, the fallen angels and those who followed him will be tormented forever and ever.
A further description of the upcoming Battle of Gog and Magog is provided on the right.
Jesus said that when we see Jerusalem (present day Israel) surrounded by armies we would know that the time of God's vengeance is near.
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Luke 21:20-22).”
The Bible calls this battle, the Battle of Gog and Magog and the Prophet Ezekiel foretold that this battle would happen after the people of Israel had been rescued from the sword [great persecution] and once again gathered from many nations back to Israel. One who has spiritual eyes to see, could clearly see that this took place in the 1940’s.
“In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you (Ezekiel 38:8-9)”
According to Ezekiel 38, the ten nations that in the latter days will form an alliance to attack the Nation of Israel are:
1. Gog 2. Magog 3. Rosh 4. Meshech 5. Tubal 6. Persia
7. Ethiopia 8. Libya 9. Gomer 10.Tarshish
Bible history shows that the people of the above ten nations, once lived in the nations presently known as Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. One common denominator of all these nations is Islam. More than 99 percent of the people who now live in these nations are Islamic, and many of these nations are seeking to create a new Islamic Caliphate (empire) under Islamic Shariah law.
The large number of events that have taken since the beginning of the War on Terror shows clearly that this battle is near. A number of Islamic forums and summits have taken place around the glove with the main goal to unite all Islamic nations as a world-wide caliphate (Muslim empire) to destroy both Israel and the church and to establish Islam as a one-world religion (one-world system).
The scriptures below reveal that during the Battle of Gog and Magog, the City of Jerusalem will be captured; the houses will be ransacked and many Jewish women will be raped. Half of the people of Jerusalem will retrun into captivity, and only a remnant will remain in the city. Nevertheless, the Bible says that the Lord will once again fight for Israel. Immediately after the Battle of Gog and Magog, the Lord will return and all the saints with Him (Zechariah 14:3-5).
"For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two... Then you shall flee through My mountain valley... As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the Lord my God will come, And all the saints with Him (Zachariah 14:2-5)."
Revelation 17, Ezekiel 16 & 23 - Jerusalem, The Great Harlot and the 10 Nations That Will Judge Her
In line with the prophecy of Gog and Magog, the 17th chapter of the Book of Revelation foretells the judgment of a nation, whom the Lord calls “Mystery Babylon, the Mother of Harlots.”
In direct relationship with the 10 nations of Gog and Magog, Revelation 17 states that the Great Harlot nation will be judged by 10 nations who will give their power to (Satan) beast.
The word Babylon means “city of confusion.” This word applies to any nation who has turned away from the ways of the Lord to practice pagan traditions and to worship other gods. The Bible provides hundreds of scriptures showing that the Great Harlot (Mystery Babylon) was the former Kingdom of Judah (Jerusalem) and corresponds to Israel today.
"… And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLONTHE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement (Revelation 17:3-6).”
After the death of King Solomon, Israel was split in two; the Kingdom of the North which continued to be called Israel, and the Kingdom of the South which was called Judah or Jerusalem because in it was the City of Jerusalem. Ezekiel 16 and 23 states that both kingdoms committed spritual harlotry by following the pagan traditions of their surrounding nations giving themselves to idolatry. As a result of their continued disobedience, God allowed the King of Assyria to remove the people of Northern Israel from their lands.
Even though the people of Jerusalem (Judah) witnessed the punishment of Israel, Jerusalem in her harlotry (idol worship) became worse than the Northern Kingdom of Israel. The people of Judah even sacrificed their own children to Moloch (Molech), a pagan deity worshiped by the Ammonites. God continued to send them prophets to turn them away from sin. Some of these, they scourged and put in prison and continue to serve other gods. As a result of their continued harlotry, God allowed the King of Babylon to destroy the Temple of Jerusalem and the people of Jerusalem he removed from their lands and held in captivity in Babylon.
Even though most idolatrous practices of the former Nation of Jerusalem (the Southern Kingdom of Judah) are not practiced by present day Israel; today many of the pagan traditions learned while in Babylon continue to be taught in Judaism through the teachings of the Talmud and mystic Kabala, which contains anti-Christ traditions and occult teachings that have been passed down from former rabbis since the time of Babylon. Hence the name "Mystery Babylon." See link above "Jewish Mysticism."
The Harlot Woman was Sitting on a Seven-Headed Beast
The Apostle John saw that the harlot was being carried by a Seven Headed beast. To him was revealed that the beasts had been released from the abyss, and the seven head of the beast was a succession of seven kings. Five had fallen (ceased to exist), one was in existence at the time of John, a seventh would come but only for a short time, and an eight king would come at a latter time and would be sent to the abyss.
The beast that you saw … shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: … And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. And there are seven kings: five have fallen, and one is, and the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short time. And the beast that was, and is not, he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition (Revelation 17:8-11).
1. Gog 2. Magog 3. Rosh 4. Meshech 5. Tubal 6. Persia
7. Ethiopia 8. Libya 9. Gomer 10. Tarshish
These 10 nations where once located in the territories of the following Islamic nations; Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The Woman Was Arrayed in Royal Clothes and Precious Stones
Just as the Apostle John in Revelation 17, the Prophet Ezekiel spoke of the Great Harlot that was arrayed in purple, precious stones and pearls. She had in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and she had become drunk with the blood of the prophets. These words were spoken to Jerusalem in Ezekiel, chapters 16 and 23. Please compare these with Revelation 17:
A Description of the Harlot In Revelation 17
“…Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” … The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations... And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement (Revelation 17:1-6).”
A Description of the Harlot in Ezekiel 16
“Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem: … I clothed you in embroidered cloth … I clothed you with fine linen and covered you with silk… I put a jewel in your nose, a beautiful crown on your head…. You were exceedingly beautiful, and succeeded to royalty… “But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot… “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. … by causing them to pass through the fire….‘Woe, woe to you!’ says the Lord GOD… You also committed harlotry with the Egyptians… You also played the harlot with the Assyrians… you multiplied your acts of harlotry as far as the land of the trader, Chaldea (Babylon)…. You are an adulterous wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband… ‘Now then, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD! …, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved, and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and will uncover your nakedness to them, … And I will judge you as women who break wedlock …; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy…, and they shall throw down your shrines (the Temple) and break down your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare. “They shall also bring up an assembly against you, and they shall stone you with stones and thrust you through with their swords. They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will make you cease playing the harlot, and you shall no longer hire lovers. So I will lay to rest My fury toward you, and My jealousy shall depart from you. I will be quiet, and be angry no more (Ezekiel 16:2-42).”
Ezekiel foretold that in the latter days God would raise the people of Egypt, Assyria and Babylon to bring an assembly against Jerusalem. These nations would throw down the places of worship in Jerusalem. Strip Jerusalem of all her possessions leaving her naked and bare. Then Jerusalem would cease to play the harlot. This prophecy refers to the Battle of God and Magog, which is about to be fulfilled.
The Woman Was Given a Cup of Abominations
Revelation 17:4 says that the Harlot had in her hand a cup full of abominations. These same words were spoken by the Prophet Ezekiel to Jerusalem (present day Israel) declaring to the nations who will judge her in the latter days. Notice that all these nations today are Islamic as all of the nations of Gog and Magog.
The Cup of Abominations in Revelation 17
“The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication (Revelation 17:4).”
The Cup of Abominations in Ezekiel 23
“Therefore, Oholibah (Jerusalem), thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you… The Babylonians, All the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa, Koa, All the Assyrians… they shall come against you …I will delegate judgment to them… And they shall deal furiously with you…They shall also strip you of your clothes And take away your beautiful jewelry. ‘Thus I will make you cease your lewdness and your harlotry brought from the land of Egypt … I will do these things to you because you have gone as a harlot after the Gentiles, because you have become defiled by their idols…‘ You shall drink of your sister’s cup, …You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, The cup of horror and desolation, The cup of your sister Samaria (Israel)… Because you have forgotten Me and cast Me behind your back, Therefore you shall bear the penalty of your lewdness and your harlotry (Ezekiel 23:22-35).”
The Harlot Nation Killed the Prophets and the Saints
Revelation 17 states that the harlot nation (Jerusalem) killed the prophets and the saints. These same words were spoken by Jesus. He further stated that Jerusalem would be left desolate until the people of Jerusalem say blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord (that is when they acknowledge and receive Him as their Messiah).
“ I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement (Revelation 17:6).”
“And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth (Revelation18:24).”
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! (Matthew 23:37-39”
Jesus foretold that Jerusalem (present day Israel) would one day be surrounded by armies and God would bring vengeance upon her.
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Luke21:20-22).”
Contrary to the teachings of carnal theologians who teach that every Jewish person will be saved, the word of God teaches that not every Jewish person is a child of God but him or her who does the will of God (the same applies to Christians).
Paul said, “…For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed (descendants) of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called (Romans 9:6-7).”
According to Paul, both Jewish and non-Jewish people are saved by the grace of God and not because of their ethnic backgrounds, nor by the observance of the rituals of the Law of Moses.
Furthermore, Paul taught that through Jesus’ sacrifice, God took away the Law of Moses which separated Jewish and non-Jewish people, creating one Israel (one body) in which non-Jewish believers are now fellow citizens of the commonwealth of Israel. John Nelson Darby in his dispensational teachings taught that the Church and Israel were two separate people, but the word of God teaches that the Church and Israel are one body comprised of both Jews and Non-Jews. When the scriptures below say, "you, once gentiles," proves that Christians are no longer gentiles (goyin - Hebrew for pagan). Don't take my word for it, please read the scriptures below:
“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles (non-Jewish) … that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel…. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both (Jews and Non-Jews) one … having abolished in His flesh …the law of commandments (the Law of Moses) … to create in Himself one new man from the two (Jews and Non-Jews) …that He might reconcile them both (Jews and Non-Jews) to God in one body … therefore, you (non-Jews) are no longer strangers and foreigners (in Israel), but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God (Ephesians 2:11-19).”
Concerning those who are natural Jewish people in Israel who will be saved, Paul said that there is a remnant that will be saved according to the election of God by grace and not by the works or traditions of the Law of Moses. Nevertheless, there are some who not knowing the scriptures teach that the Jewish people will be saved by adhering to the Law of Moses (this teaching is Antichristian and is of Satan).
“Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant (of Israel) according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works (rituals of the Law); otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace…What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day (Romans 11:5-8).”
There are some who teach that only Jews are the elect of God, neverthes from the scriptures above saying "Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it," we can see that the elect of God are both Jews and Non-Jews who are called and chosen by God according to His purpose.
Regarding the remnant of Israel that will be saved, Paul quoted Isaiah saying:
“Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved. (Romans 9:28).”
Notice above that only a remnant of Israel will be saved.
As one can clearly see, God makes no exceptions of men, and does not play personal favoritism. Everyone who will be saved will do so by the Grace of God, through faith in His only begotten Son (Jesus) who gave Himself as the last and ultimate sacrifice for all. Those who reject to submit to the Son will perish, of the Jews first and then of the gentiles.
“I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’” Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him (2 Psalm 7-12)."
The Great Tribulation of the Church has begun and the Battle of Gog and Magog (Armageddon) is near.
The gospels make it very clear that the redemption of the Nation of Israel will not take place until the Jewish people repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their true King and Messiah. We need to pray for peace in Jerusalem, but above all we need to pray for them to receive Jesus as their true savior and Messiah. For the scriptures clearly teach that the wrath of God will be poured against those who reject HIm.
"... When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10)."
Revelation 13: The Old Beast and the New Beast with two Horns
In Revelation 13 John saw the vision of two beasts; one had seven heads and ten horns and a second one had two horns like a lamb but spoke like a dragon.
The first beasts represented a succession of empires staring from Babylon, Med-Persia, Greece, the Seleucid an the Ptolemaic Kingdoms, Rome and Nazi Germany.
"... And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed (Revelation 13:1-3)."
The wounding of one of the heads of the beast, represent the binding of Satan (the headship of the Seven-Headed beast) during the time of the Roman Empire, and the healing of the beast represent the release of Satan prior to the Nazi Empire.
Revelation 13 mentions a second beast or empire that in the latter days would rise out of the earth having two horns in the appearance of a lamb, but spoke words very much like Satan, the dragon. The two-horned empire causes men and woman to create an image of the beast that was wounded but now is healed, causing those who would not worship or bow down before the image of the beast to be killed (Revelation 13: 14-17).
In other words the Second Beast will once again cover the lands From Europe to Pakistan as Rome did during the time of Christ. The Second Beast will cause those who dwell on those lands to bow down before Satan the dragon by forcing the people of these nations to worship a false religion.
The two-horned empire causes everyone to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads so that those who do not have the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name would not be able to buy or sell. Revelation13:18 says that the number of the beast is the number of man, which is six hundred sixty six.
Many Bible scholars have used various types of gematria (Jewish mystic numerology) to calculate the meaning of the number six hundred sixty six and have compared the beast to various religious and political figures. Although many of their answers are quite interesting, at the present time I am unable to endorse or agree with their answers, since their conclusions lack biblical and historical evidence to support their findings.
A closer possiblility of the number of the beast came through a recent discovery in the Greek Codex Vaticanus which dates back to 350 AD. The image below shows this number to be written in Arabic as Bismillah (in the name of god) with the two crossed sword symbol of Jihad (Islamic holy war).
It is important to understand that ultimately the first and second beasts mentioned in Revelation 13 are kingdoms used by Satan (the Dragon) to hold captive the People of Jerusalem. The Bible also predicts that a false messiah or false prophet will appear in Jerusalem. Since the scriptures teach that such person would be accepted by many in Jerusalem, there is a a great likelihood that the false prophet will be of Jewish descend, while the Beast is a confederacy of ten Islamic nations that will come against Jerusalem.
The Bible confirms that Christians will be on earth to witness the false Messiah do many false miracles by which he deceives those who reject the truth. This is why is imperative that we seek the truth, even when it contradicts the popular doctrines that many teach.
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away (the great revellion) comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).”
The word of God teaches that the beast will bring great persecution against both Israel and the Church for a period of 3 ½ years and not for 7 years as Darby claimed.
“So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months [3 ½ years] (Revelation 13:4-5).”
Nowhere in the scriptures we are told that God would restore the covenant of the Law of Moses as it is commonly taught by many of those who follow Darby’s teachings, and nowhere in the scriptures is taught that the false messiah will establish, nor break any covenants in Israel as it is also commonly taught by modern eschatologists after the teachings of Darby.
The beast has two horns like a lamb, but speaks like a dragon.
Most Muslims today believe that in the latter days, Allah would bring back Imam Al Mahdi (the guided one) and Isa his prophet. These two Islamic figures will unite all the Muslims Nations and will lead them into a great holy war (Jihad) primarily against Israel and the Vatican City of Rome. Also against every other nation or people who does not submit to Allah and accept Islam as their religion. Through this global Islamic holy war Muslims will destroy every social, political, religious and governmental system in the world as well as those who do not convert to Islam. Those who refused to convert to Islam will either be killed or enslaved and their property will be confiscated.
As we read earlier, Ezekiel 38 mentions two figures or nations who would rise in the latter days as Gog and Magog. Gog and Magog could very well represent two radical Islamic groups such as the Shiite or the Sunni or two radical Islamic figures like Imam Al-Mahdi and Isa who may likely respond to the call of many radical Islamic people who at the present time are praying to Allah for the arrival of their twelfth Imam.
Whether Gog and Magog are two nations or two men claiming to be Al-Mahdi and Isa, these two figures will manage to form an alliance between many Islamic nations, creating an Islamic Empire that will bring a holy war or Jihad against many nations establishing Islam as the next world religion.
Both Al Mahdi and Isa or Gog and Magog will pretend to be humble servants of Allah (God) as Jesus the Son of God humbly served His Father; nevertheless, out of the mouth of Imam Al Mahdi and Isa will proceed words like that of Satan the Dragon. We see this today in many radical Islamic leaders, who although they claim to be the righteous followers of Islam, they speak words of hatred, death and destruction towards everyone who does not follow their belief.
Islam teaches that all who refuse to convert to Islam and bow down in submission to Allah should be slaughtered, imprisoned or enslaved. Today in most Islamic nations, Christians, Jews, people of other religions as well as those who convert from Islam into Christianity are heavily persecuted, tortured or killed. Under Islamic Sharia Law, conversion from Islam to any other faith is punishable by death. Those who convert to Christianity face harassment from the government, their neighbors and even their own family.
In many Muslim nations rape, mutilation and torture are used as means to force Christians to conversion. In many cases women and girls as young as 9 years old have been raped in front of their fathers or husbands for refusing to reject Christianity as their religion.
People of other religions who live in many Muslim nations are considered as second-class citizens. In places like Sudan, Libya and Egypt Christians are sold as slaves. In many other Muslim nations there is discrimination against employing and promoting Christians and many of them cannot purchase food in Muslim stores and markets. Christians are driven out of their homes, tortured, imprisoned and killed for their faith.
At the present time many radical Islamic leaders throughout the world are seeking to revive the former Islamic Caliphate. Islam is presently rising up out of the earth as the next world empire.
Contrary to the teachings of many theologians who teach that the Empire of Rome was divided into ten European nations, the Empire of Rome at one time or another occupied lands that formerly belonged to the Assyrians, the Philistines, the Babylonians, the Medes, the Persians, the Greeks, parts of the Empire of Egypt and part of India. The first beast of Revelation 13 represented not only the Empire of Rome but also represented the empires of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Med-Persia, and Europe (Nazi Germany), which also represented one of the heads of the seven-headed beast (Revelation 13: 1-10, Daniel 7:1-8).
Islam now occupies most of the territory that was once was occupied by these former empires. As the secularization of many of the European nations continues to grow, Islam has become the fastest growing religion in Europe. Soon Islam will occupy all of the lands that formerly belonged to the former Empire of Rome; thereby making the new Islamic empire an image or representation of the former seven-headed beast that was spoken in Revelation 13:1-10. By authority of the Koran and the Hadith most of the Islamic nations currently exercise the power to persecute, kill and force those who lived in their territory to change their faith and their religion. Imagine the power and the authority that the all of these nations will have once they have merged into one World Empire with no national boundaries among its territories.
Will God forsake the Nation of Israel? Certainly Not!
The Prophet Ezekiel said that once the armies of Gog and Magog had invaded the Nation of Israel, God’s fury would turn against the armies of Gog and Magog; there would be an earthquake in the land of Israel of such magnitude that will cause every thing on the earth to fall to the ground (Ezekiel 38:18-20). God will then call a sword against Gog and Magog so that their armies will turn against themselves and kill one another in judgment causing great pestilence and bloodshed. God will then pour flooding rain; great hailstones, fire and brimstone against the armies of Gog and Magog.
The Prophet Zechariah said that at the time when God has led the nations of the world to come against the Nation of Israel, the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as He once fought in the day of battle. On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. Half of the mountain will move towards the north and half towards the south creating a great valley that will run east to west so that the remnant of Israel would flee through the middle of the mountain (Zechariah 14:1-3).
Although it is certain that God will fight for Israel, the prophet Zechariah said that God would allow the armies of Gog and Magog to capture the City of Jerusalem and take half of its people back into captivity. Zechariah expanded by saying that many houses will be broken into and many women will be raped. The only ones who will not be taken from the City of Jerusalem will be the remnant of the people of God (Zechariah 14:1-3).
The Holy Scriptures say that in the day that God seeks to destroy all the nations that came against Jerusalem, He will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications; and they shall look upon Him whom their ancestors have pierced, and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son. In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the Valley of Megiddo (Zachariah 12:9-11). It will be at this time that the people left in Israel will recognize that Jesus whom their ancestors had pierced is the true Messiah and will surrender to Him as their Lord and Savior.
Please stay in the word, be in constant prayer, put on the Armor of God and continue in the fellowship of the saints.
May the blessings of God our Father in the Name of Jesus be upon you.
